Why a Shihpoo?
So first of all, we totally love both Shihpoo's and Shichon's, which is why we raise both! They are equally amazing as family dogs. We understand its a tough choice. Such a tough choice some of our families have a Shihpoo and a Shichon!
I’d like to share here below to help you make the best decision between these two delightful companions. Temperament can vary from litter to litter, from puppy to puppy, but all end up making a wonderful and intuitive family dog whom their new owners adore!

A Shih Poo is an intentional cross between a Shihtzu and a Poodle to create a F1 Hybrid. The offspring brings out quality traits from both parents!

Shi Poo Temperament
The Shihpoo temperament will be that of a cuddly sweet, gentle spirit from the Shihtzu, and then a loyal, intelligent, alert temperament from the Poodle.
Our Shih Poo Puppies are easily trained with dedication and love! They greet you with a smile and rarely have a bad day.
The Shih Poo is very popular for families and puppy parents of all walks of life! They do great with active families, get along well with other dogs or animals, and make a great companion for children!
Shih Poo Appearance
You may have heard these dogs nicknamed the "Teddy Bear" dogs for their striking resemblance to a child's teddy bear! Their soft, cuddly coat and squishy little faces very much resemble a Teddy Bear.
We love all the different variety in Shih Poo coat color! How your Shihpoo puppy looks and coloring will depend greatly on the parents genetics. Our puppies weight range is from 9 to 14 pounds as adults, based on past litters and parents weights.
Other options may vary too. The option of having a more thick curly coat of a Poodle or the soft coat of a Shihtzu. Either way, the Shihpoo puppy you decide to adopt will look like a little "Teddy Bear" with a fun-loving yet cuddly demeanor!

Shihtzus are known for their sweet-natured calm and cuddly temperament. They can tend to be a bit stubborn in training but can succeed in agility and obedience competitions. They also create beautiful colors, and take credit for the signature face mask. ShihTzu's require minimal exercise and are happy to lay in your lap.
